Game series

Game series tell a story in episodes, like a television series: each installment is a self-contained plot point with an intriguing ending, and the decisions carry over into subsequent episodes. This format was made famous by Telltale with The Walking Dead and Life is Strange. Nowadays, most such games can be downloaded as a full season.
