Action

Action is the broadest genre of all: it encompasses virtually any game where reaction speed and precision are more important than thought. Gunfights, hand-to-hand combat, chases, and explosions — action games rarely give the player a break, maintaining tension for almost the entire game.

Different forms of dynamics
Some projects emphasize firearms and combat tactics, others focus on close combat and spectacular combos, and still others blend action with RPG, stealth, or racing elements. It's precisely because of this flexibility that the genre rarely becomes stale — almost every new game offers its own variation of dynamic gameplay.
