Olympus 2249 — is a single-player, turn-based RPG set in post-nuclear America with a dieselpunk aesthetic, where the hero's actions directly impact available opportunities and the subsequent course of events. At the beginning of the journey, you must choose one of five karmic types, after which your words, decisions, and consequences will begin to change the attitudes of others and the available quests. Some quests may be closed due to your chosen alignment, while others are only available to a certain character type. Character path
Karma here is linked not only to conversations but also to the overall character development system. The chosen type determines the available behavioral options, but over time, the character's worldview can change based on their own actions. One of five peaceful specializations opens up additional opportunities: it adds new dialogue options and solutions to emerging problems. Conversations take place without the usual set of questions from a separate menu, so an ill-considered remark can lead to unexpected results — for example, blocking access to a faction or preventing the possibility of receiving a certain quest.
Combat is turn-based and allows you to exploit the environment. You can take advantage of favorable positions, attack individual limbs, use combat skills using Vitality Points, or transform environmental objects into weapons. A barrel of diesel fuel can be used as part of an attack, while electricity and traps help create additional threats for enemies. Beyond combat, stealth, crafting, an armor system, and hazardous environmental conditions, including radiation, poison, and desert storms, are available. The day/night cycle affects the behavior of characters, who have their own routines and sleeping areas.
