L.A. Noir

Film noir was very popular in the West in the 1940s and 1950s. These films are dark, pessimistic, and cynical, often in black and white. The 2011 game LA Noire is in color, yet it perfectly captures the atmosphere of these films. As the title suggests, the game takes place in Los Angeles. The player assumes the role of a local police officer and solves several cold-blooded crimes.

The year is 1947. Cole Phelps, now a police officer and former Marine, begins investigating the murder of his army comrades. He first discovers that it's connected to morphine trafficking, but the thread then leads to politics. The player will witness not only the highs of Phelps's career but also the lows, learning details about his personal tragedies, including a high-profile divorce. The adjective "cinematic" is apt for this game. It even premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

LA Noire Features:
- Impressive acting. Don't be surprised, because Team Bondi used MotionScan technology. Thanks to 32 high-definition cameras, there's no need for a special suit, but it's far more complex. The technology captures the smallest movements, including facial expressions, amazingly. It's a must-see!
- Ticket to Los Angeles 1947. The developers brilliantly captured the blend of elegance, glitz, glamour, and gloom characteristic of 1940s Los Angeles. One mode allows free roaming of the nostalgic metropolis. Team Bondi used its own graphics engine to create the graphics, and Havok to capture the physics.
- Lots of interesting characters. Cole Phelps and his partners maintain order during a very difficult and tense time. They encounter representatives from all walks of life and realize that they can't trust colleagues, doctors, politicians — nobody, not even each other or themselves. LA Noire places a strong emphasis on interrogations. And it's important not only to listen, but also to look someone in the eye.
- There will be a lot of trouble ahead. Gamers can expect shootouts, hand-to-hand combat, classic car chases, and heart-wrenching conversations. To fully immerse the player in the action, a superb soundtrack has been compiled. The soundtrack features compositions by Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and other legends.
