X-Blades HD is a fantasy slasher adventure game. The main character is a young girl named Ayumi, who decides to try her luck and sets out on an adventure.

The game takes place in a vast fantasy universe, where magical artifacts are scattered throughout the land. Many travelers have set out to find them, seeking fame and fortune, including Ayumi. One unremarkable day, the hero comes across a map indicating the location of two very powerful artifacts. As it turns out, whoever possesses them can change the world. Therefore, Ayumi simply cannot allow them to fall into the hands of dark forces.

The game's third-person interface is extremely simple. Its core component is combat-based. The characters' movements during battles are meticulously detailed. When encountering an enemy, Ayumi wreaks havoc on the battlefield and easily defeats her opponents.
