The only way to navigate the flooded areas is via a homemade airboat left by your grandfather. Along with it, you'll receive a journal with operating instructions and survival tips. Study the notes carefully, keep the vehicle in good working order, and listen to the radio: sometimes it picks up mysterious signals that may hint at what lies ahead. An unusual chest left by your grandfather also plays an important role in your journey.

The airboat has no conventional fuel — its engine runs on fresh blood. To continue on your journey, you'll need to fish, but the blood attracts dangerous creatures, so the vehicle must be cleaned regularly. Explore abandoned houses, flooded buildings, and caves, gather information about the city's past, and learn to recognize the swamp creatures that may be lurking nearby.
