End of Abyss

End of Abyss — a dark sci-fi horror from the Swedish studio Section 9 Interactive, founded by the former developers of Little Nightmares. An abandoned underground complex, monsters in the darkness, and a young heroine who must descend into the very depths.

Descent into the unknown

It all begins with a routine mission: strange interference of unknown origin is detected in a mysterious underground complex, and a young combat specialist named Sel is sent there. But the mission quickly turns into a harrowing descent through a ruined and abandoned world. The deeper the heroine goes, the more hostile the environment becomes and the more terrifying the creatures roaming the empty corridors. And the truth about what happened in the complex may be far worse than anyone imagined.

Paths that open up with time

The underground locations are interconnected and branch off in different directions. Using her scanner, Sel finds hidden passages and useful equipment, and the new tools she acquires throughout the game open up previously inaccessible areas. Therefore, it's worth returning to previously explored corridors: secrets are hidden behind previously locked doors.

Combat and exploration

End of Abyss combines Metroidvania, action-adventure, and twin-stick shooter. You'll constantly be fighting monsters, your gear can be upgraded, and your enemies become more powerful with each level you descend. The game is entirely single-player and was created by a small team in Malmö, Sweden — people with acclaimed projects under their belt.
