Repentant is a dramatic adventure game in the quest format, telling the story of a criminal who seeks to atone for the sins of his past life. The protagonist, Oleg, is deeply troubled by his terrible actions and is trying to restore his former relationships with his loved ones.

To this end, he attempts to reconnect with his ex-wife, but his attempt fails due to his alcohol addiction. And then, one day, in a small shop, Oleg witnesses a robbery committed by a young woman.
