The E3 exhibition was a magnificent showcase for new projects and more. For example, the PC Gaming Show conference featured a keynote address by Dean Hall (for the uninitiated, he's the creator of the Arma 2 mod DayZ, as well as the standalone project DayZ Standalone). Hall discussed his work on a brand new project: ION, a sandbox game, set in the world of Space Station 13.
Features: - The game is isometric, but there are no plans to copy Station 13, which may be a disappointment for some players, but let them be warmed by the surrounding game world. - Characters will not be assigned different professions; they will be replaced by contracts. - Various aliens and humans who have signed contracts with a single company, which is essentially a criminal syndicate, will become hostile to players. - Among the announced news, there were several pleasant ones – for example, the fact that elements of physics, gravity, and the atmosphere of space, including the behavior of various bodies in it, have already been developed. - The gaming audience will be divided into several servers, each planned to support 50 to 100 people, but interaction between servers will be organized. - A nice addition will be the ability to own your own server, with space allocated for user mods. - After the testing phase (which the project is currently in, and is currently closed), early access will be opened for the following platforms - PC and Xbox One. - When will it be possible to download the game via torrent? ION and it is not yet known whether we can enjoy it.
