The Ukrainian industry recently welcomed a new renowned developer: Red Beat. Why renowned, you ask? Because it includes former employees of Nival, or more precisely, its Kyiv office, Nival Red. So, we're talking about the people who worked on Prime World. Red Beat's first game was called Space RogueInterestingly, in 1989, there was a project with the same name from the now-defunct Origin Systems. That game told the story of a spaceship captain who gets into trouble with aliens. He could have gotten out of it in various ways: becoming a merchant, a pirate, or even a politician.
And so, Space Rogue Red Beat covers the same topic: It's also a space combat simulator. The player takes control of a starship and its crew. Vast, randomly generated environments await, where pirate attacks can occur at any moment. However, no one prevents you from making your own vessel pirate-like. But battles are only part of the life of space travelers. Two hundred possible gameplay scenarios are reported, and this number is expected to increase in the future. Plus, many stories can have different endings.
So Space Rogue — a very diverse game: It gives the player a great deal of freedom. They can not only choose how to upgrade the ship and manage the crew, but also which mission to prioritize. Furthermore, the procedural generation program can be customized. Should we even mention the different difficulty levels? That goes without saying! And let's not forget the graphics. They're beautiful and original — bright, cheerful, and even feel like they're straight out of an American comic book. It's a mixture of FTL: Faster Than Light, Space Rangers, and, well, Space Rogue from the 1980s. So Red Beat has every chance of making history.
