Hardhats : Some Survival Required — is a co-op construction sandbox where ordinary construction work quickly devolves into chaos with dynamite, sieges, and the screams of friends trying to keep a crooked structure from collapsing. On paper, the task seems simple: arrive on the island, gather materials, and build according to the blueprint. In practice, however, half the time is spent trying to survive, fend off enemies, and avoid blowing up your own base prematurely.

Construction here is constantly going wrong.

Construction requires hauling resources by hand, searching for rare materials, erecting supports, and literally helping each other hold up enormous structures. Things get especially fun in a co-op environment, when one person is building walls, another is trying to haul materials, and a third suddenly decides to mine resources with dynamite right next to the base.

Enemies regularly attack the camp, destroying buildings and forcing you to quickly fortify your position. This forces you to constantly develop your base: build workbenches, prepare weapons, stock up on food, and think about defense as much as building. And if the standard islands aren't enough, the game allows you to create your own maps and scenarios using the built-in editor.
