Barely Breathing is a 3D platformer with physics puzzles where you control a goldfish, navigate a house, and interact with objects to create your own path. The gameplay revolves around jumping, exploiting the physics of objects, and finding creative solutions, allowing you to progress through rooms not originally designed for such movement.
Physics instead of logic
Movement feels unstable and takes some getting used to, as the character doesn't behave like a typical platformer. Every jump must be calculated, taking into account inertia and the position of surrounding objects. Sometimes it's easier to drop an object and use it as a support than to try to move forward, making the process a constant exercise.
The environment becomes a tool. Objects can be moved, dropped, and used to create new routes. Gradually, you begin to see not just a room, but a set of possibilities, where any object can become part of the solution. This creates a sense of freedom, because the path is not predetermined and depends on your actions.
