SHE WAS 98 is a first-person psychological horror story about the slow breakdown of trust within an old house. You come to care for your nearly 100-year-old grandmother, who remains in a dilapidated home where time seems to have stood still. Her relatives have long since disappeared, and doctors attribute it to dementia, but her gaze sometimes seems too clear. And you yourself aren't entirely sure what drives you — caring or the expectation of an inheritance.
The house that remembers more
The routine seems simple: scheduled medications, room checks, evening silence. The creaking of floorboards, rustling sounds in the walls, and the heavy smell of old things gradually become constant companions. Sometimes Grandma looks at her as if she sees not her grandson, but a stranger. Sometimes her footsteps can be heard in places where she physically shouldn't be.
With each passing day, the house begins to change. Objects are out of place, doors open differently, and the sounds of the night grow closer. You begin to feel as if you're being watched. The line between illness and something else blurs, and the truth about what's happening becomes closely tied to your own motives.
