Russian company Snowbird Games continues to expand the universe of the turn-based strategy and role-playing game Eador, which tells the story of battles for floating islands, or shards. On the second day of summer 2016, the standalone expansion Eador: Imperium was released, albeit in Early Access. A new world, entirely covered in snow and hence dubbed "Winter," was added, along with many more heroes and units, and the tactical map and overall mechanics were slightly redesigned. The improvements are obvious, and users are leaving mostly positive reviews, rather than the previously mixed ones. This means that more people are likely to download Eador: Imperium than the original.
What's new in the expansion? - Four heroes and scenarios for each - Fifteen and a half units - Winter World
The heroes are quite diverse: the Pilot controls a non-vertical takeoff aircraft, so this action takes one turn; the Lich is so vile that the living refuse to join his army, but zombies eagerly join his army, and on every turn; the Sorceress has no formal training, possesses innate abilities, and wields a wide variety of magic; the Legate is a self-confident hero, so he only commands warriors of the second rank and above. It's worth noting that there were no female characters before, so the developers decided to expand on all aspects. It's unknown when the final version will be released, or rather, when gamers thoroughly familiarize themselves with the early version and tell us what still needs improvement. So, it's time to get started!
