I'm not a graphics freak, but damn, this isn't funny anymore. No matter how playable it is, with graphics like these, it's about 25 years late. It's on par with the Sega Dreamcast and PlayStation 1.

KENT01, typical pixel art, and not the worst kind at that. What's wrong with that? It's an indie studio, with all that entails. And the studio is literally called "16 BIT NIGHTS." If you don't like it, skip it. Mike, Sony, and other purveyors of bottomless bucks to the industry make projects with the highest graphics quality. It's a shame they're not fun to play, but they look just right for 2024.

LikarI haven't played the game yet, but I completely agree with your opinion.
The Last Spell is an awesome game.
Stoneshard hasn't been released yet, but the project's mechanics are at least comparable to those of a pioneer.
So I completely agree with you, pixel art is not bad if the game is interesting to play.

The game is interesting, but there are problems that are probably related to the game itself. The thing is that there are no resolution settings (or I didn’t find them) and it doesn’t work through files either.
The problem is with the screen resolution, like in the game it's 1280x720. If anyone knows a solution, tell me how to change it.

A broken save system + a clumsy, lagging, and periodically freezing engine = a burning ass

I play on average, the starting perk is survivor.
The game captivated me from the very first minute. You need to escape the base quickly, collect loot, and find survivors. You're given a choice: ammo or a first aid kit. I don't understand why I need ammo at the beginning of the game... I have a pistol and an Uzi in my hands... so I go for the first aid kit.

And so the beginning ends, reality begins: clearing every location of zombies and looting resources. Until the final point, "Gorky 15," the same thing over and over again. And this is my fourth day. Where's the choice of where I go? Where did all that go at the beginning of the game? For example, I didn't get any first aid kits at all, just zero! Yeah, I didn't take any risks, even though sometimes I wanted to... killing one by one in the passage and doing that every time is quite a pleasure...and they move slowly, it's just pure joy. Sometimes my nerves got the better of me, and I'd leave, getting a few kicks.

So, I've completed "Gorky 15," picked up an item, and now they're telling me we have three paths here: fuel, ammo, or food. You can only choose one, but there's no going back. The map is dots and lines between them, like in an RPG with 100 perks and skills. (And then I remembered Dragon Age. I completed all the steps there, left the location, and after a while, the Darkspawn devoured it.) I'm starting to think, figuring out how to travel in a way that clears as many locations with respawns as possible, while also wondering what I actually need: food? Fuel? I haven't used weapons and didn't really want to use them until the very end, just melee combat. So, food and fuel.

At first, I tried it this way, not caring about going for ammo (it's closer to me) and I got it done. (Then I have to make a final choice.) After taking it, it turned out you can also go for fuel and food, and you can close all the points, meaning you can't return to the location you've already visited, which should be obvious. I thought the location and the routes to and from it would be closed.

Unclear: There's a melee perk (the fist is drawn). I thought it wasn't just for melee combat, but also for melee weapons, since I start with knives, shields, and armor. Why bother attacking zombies barehanded? It turns out it's just for punching them, why bother? There are no knuckles here. The hand hits at 9, the knife at 12, so I didn't see the point. The shield is also unclear; it has no stats at all. There's a police shield, and there's a special forces shield. Maybe it's for bosses who like to push players away from themselves. I don't know, I haven't looked into it... The attack range of the knife, bat, and axe is 67, although the knife looks smaller in the picture; it's not a machete like Danny Trejo's... The stamina cost per hit for the bat is 7, the axe is 7, and the katana has 7, I haven't looked into it yet. Why are they the same, anyway? By the way, the bat is wooden, you can tell by the sound of the blow, it’s not iron or steel, and adding a barbed wire to it doesn’t change anything.
The bat is one-handed, which is logical. I didn't craft the axe, but it would be funny if it was also one-handed.

It's a cool game, I really enjoyed it. But what really pisses me off is that all the characters have tons of negative perks. Almost everyone has a passive that reduces experience, and the second passive is no better. The game is nothing but debuffs. I got a character with a speed penalty in both passives, and I don't need him. It would be fine if the passives compensated for each other, like one is good and the other isn't. But no, they're all bad. While there are firearms, you can't use them for very long; the ammo just flies off. Ultimately, the game isn't bad, but it's still just as annoying.
