Retrace The Light – a Chinese top-down action game with Metroidvania elements from Xiaming Game, released in November 2025. The game's main feature is the ability to instantly return to a previously visited point, which is the basis for both combat and puzzles.

3323 and Project Mirror

The story takes place in the distant future. Humanity, together with a superintelligent AI named Primus, has launched the Meta Mirror project, which is designed to stabilize society: special agents heal the minds of people who have experienced severe emotional trauma. You play as such an agent, Decem. A mirror labyrinth with its own mysteries and monsters appears in the mind of each patient. During one mission, Decem is seriously injured and loses his memory, so his abilities and the truth about the project must be restored gradually.

The return mechanic is the main tool here. By returning to where you were a second ago, you can flank an enemy or strike from a blind spot. In the labyrinths, the same technique helps solve spatial puzzles. Bosses are born from the patients' obsessions: among them are giant mechanisms, enemies that block your vision, and shape-shifting creatures. Each has a weak point, and finding it without returning is usually impossible.

Modules and endings

Defeating bosses rewards you with seven core modules, plus variations. These shift your combat style toward counterattacks, brute force, or charged attacks. More than twenty additional modules are hidden throughout the labyrinths, allowing you to create your own build.
