MHL — a completely text-based game designed in the style of a hacker program. Using only text, you must assemble a team of professional hockey players, train them remotely to become the best players in the division, and then, by issuing commands through a computer screen, win the hockey cup.

Plot

The game begins with the protagonist receiving a call from his uncle. He cheerfully announces that he's won an entire hockey team in a poker game. Since the uncle knows little about sports, he offers his nephew, who is you in the story, the chance to lead the team and become its coach and director all in one. With nothing better to do, you agree. Events unfold rapidly, and you're faced with a choice: either win a major competition or go to prison. With nowhere to turn, the player begins developing strategies and a training plan.

Game process

Before you begin building your team, you're assigned 100 random players with a random set of attributes. You can manage them like in chess: each player's individual characteristics can bring different benefits. Unneeded players can be sold or traded. To attract funding, you can use agents, participate in advertising campaigns, and win small tournaments with cash prizes. Leading a team to victory is far from easy. Assembling a team of top players isn't even half the battle.
