Survival in the taiga

Here, you can't simply point to a location and trust the navigator. You have to plot your own route, constantly checking the map and surrounding landmarks. To survive the long journey, you can hunt, fish, gather edible plants, and cook over a fire. Nature provides everything you need for survival, but finding the right resources is still a matter of finding them. The materials you gather allow you to craft tools that help you overcome various difficulties and continue moving through the harsh terrain.

As night falls, camp becomes especially important, as the bitter cold becomes as dangerous as wild animals. Players must build and insulate temporary shelters, set up huts, tents, and teepees, maintain a fire, and prepare for the next day. The northern taiga, however, is home to animals that can react to human actions. Bears and wolves can spot or hear travelers, and even talking over a voice communication device can attract their attention. Sometimes it's wiser to forgo combat, remain quiet, and simply avoid a dangerous beast.
