Barking from the Dark is a first-person psychological horror game in which you spend the night shift at a lonely railroad crossing. Perform your usual duties, monitor the movement of trains, and try to discover what lurks in the forest, from where a strange barking sounds emanates every night.
A normal shift is gradually turning into a nightmare.
The job seems incredibly simple: maintain the railroad crossing, repair the tracks, open the barriers, and maintain contact with the dispatcher. However, the disappearance of the previous duty officer quickly casts doubt on what's really going on. The only clue is a note left behind, and as the night deepens, the surrounding forest begins to behave increasingly strangely. Inexplicable sounds grow closer, shadows between the trees seem to move of their own accord, and the feeling of unease intensifies with each passing hour.
A small control room becomes the only safe space amid the surrounding darkness. Old equipment, mechanical control panels, and occasional phone calls help maintain a sense of control, but gradually the familiar routine crumbles. Communications begin to fail, the surrounding reality shifts, and attempts to understand the source of the mysterious barking lead the hero deeper into an atmosphere of uncertainty, where fear is born not from sudden events, but from the constant anticipation of the inevitable.
