Echoes of Red

Echoes of Red – a top-down pixel shooter roguelike from TERMAX Studios, released on March 3, 2026. Its main idea is that the hero has an unlimited number of weapons: the longer you hold out, the more weapons and artifacts fire simultaneously, and thousands of enemies appear on the screen.

As many weapons as you want

A run begins with choosing one of four classes, each with four starting weapons. As the match progresses, upgrades are unlocked, and new weapons aren't replaced by existing ones, but rather added to them. The game features 112 upgrades, 30 pieces of equipment that are unlocked gradually, 19 deck cards, and 11 artifact weapons. Combinations of these weapons are created to enhance each other, and by the end of the run, the screen becomes a continuous stream of gunfire. Aiming and firing can be left on automatic or controlled manually.

Souls, Ore, and Pets

Souls are harvested from fallen enemies, unlocking upgrades and fragments to enhance weapons. Minerals are found throughout the map; breaking them grants the hero a small stat boost. Pets collect resources, absorb attacks, and attack. Dash allows you to dart through almost any attack without taking damage, but without it, you'll never survive in dense crowds. Seven minibosses with nasty moves like teleporting, hero grabs, and summoning reinforcements are a thorn in the side. There are also larger enemies like Archon of Red and Icon of Tyranny.

Short matches and difficulty

A single match lasts approximately 15 minutes. There are nine difficulty levels, including a mode where any hit is fatal, endless elite enemies, and endless survival with a shared leaderboard.
