Dune Rancher is a first-person game built around the gradual accumulation of moon dust in a dangerous desert environment. The main goal is to build a steady flow of resources while protecting your reserves from desert spirits. Growth begins with manual harvesting, but over time it evolves into a complex system of upgrades, automation, and defense.
Dust is under threat
Moon dust serves as the foundation for all development, but hostile entities constantly try to steal it. Defense requires attention, as resource loss directly slows progress. Weapons and tools allow you to repel attacks, and judiciously balancing spending between defense and mining becomes a key factor in survival.
Machines and robots are gradually becoming available to take over routine tasks. Automation increases revenue and reduces workload, allowing workers to focus on scarce resources and strategic decisions. The ultimate goal is to bring the system to a state where the desert no longer poses a threat to accumulated wealth.
