Ministry of Order – a dystopian puzzle game about genetics from VoltekPlay. Set in a fictional 1920s-style country, a fire has destroyed birth certificates, and now you're trying to figure out whose child it is based on medical records.
Verification of signs
The game seems simple. On the table are the parents' cards with photographs and the baby's questionnaire, and you determine which traits the child could have inherited: blood type, Rh factor, eye and hair color, and other characteristics. There's only one matching pair. If you guess correctly, the lamp on the table lights up green. A handbook with inheritance rules is at hand, and new ones are added each game day. Not everything can be seen in the photo: the father's eyes are invisible when he wears glasses, and the mother's original hair color is unclear. Mistakes result in a violation report and a fine.
The dining room, neighbors and a knock on the door
Between shifts, the hero dines with colleagues in the hospital cafeteria and returns home, where neighbors, coworkers, and inspectors visit. Everyone needs something, but not everyone is forthright. Dialogues branch out: you can gain trust, make enemies, take on a risky assignment, or remain silent. Consequences come later, in the form of a letter at the door or a heavy knock at night. The New Albion Times prints the official version of events; in the evenings, the radio is sometimes replaced by noise, and the truth must be pieced together from advertisements, rumors, and personal observations.
Five pounds and rent
A precise job pays five pounds, rent costs forty, and "voluntary" contributions to the regime's needs are taken into account by those who refuse to pay. A game day lasts a few minutes, but decisions lead to one of several endings. The only thing the website shares with MiniLAW: Ministry of Law is the word "ministry."
