Echoes of Mystralia

Echoes of Mystralia – an action RPG with roguelike elements from the Canadian studio Borealys Games, released into early access on August 11, 2026. It is a continuation of the Mages of Mystralia series: the famous spell-crafting system returns, but now works within repeatable runs.

Spells from Memories

The game's core mechanics are how magic works. Spells are crafted freely on a special canvas, using memories as their material. Each memory alters the properties of the spell, and the same basic spell can behave completely differently. There are sixteen starting spells, over a hundred memories, seven elements, and over forty relics. By combining all of these, you can create combinations that enhance each other, creating a unique set for each run.

Mazarim vs. Oblivion

The game's hero, Mazarim, guardian of the Cycle of Memories, returns to Mystralia. The world is slowly being consumed by Oblivion: it erases roads, settlements, lakes, and mountains, and the inhabitants are losing their memories. You can help them by completing quests and regaining lost memories, and as the game progresses, the world map changes. Early access includes three regions with bosses, elite enemies, hidden puzzles, rifts, and challenges. Between runs, the Lotus, a system of continuous progression, operates, and over fifty upgrades can be purchased at the Altar.

How is it different from Mages of Mystralia?

Mages of Mystralia, released in 2017, was a classic adventure with puzzles and a single, expansive story. It features a roguelike structure: short runs, constant leveling, and an emphasis on combat. The developers plan to release the full 1.0 version in about a year, adding new spells, relics, bosses, storylines with dialogue choices, a finale, and another region.
