Haunted: The Chronicles

Haunted: The Chronicles – a first-person co-op horror game about bloggers hunting the paranormal, from the indie studio Darkest Room. The game is in Early Access, and the developer planned a full release for 2025, with the caveat that the release date could be delayed. You can play solo or with up to four players online.

Bloggers on the Glitch platform

You lead a group of bloggers who explore abandoned places and post their footage on a platform called "Glitch." You have to build an audience from scratch, and it grows by filming in places where normal people don't go. Supernatural creatures roam there, and there are plenty of other dangers. While filming, you need to solve puzzles, uncover the history of the place, and work together to find a way out. The developers specifically advise against staying alone for long periods of time.

Flashlight and camera

The main tools are flashlights and cameras. They record their findings and help them survive when trouble arises. The locations so far are: old, crumbling mansions and abandoned mental hospitals. Puzzles are built on encrypted messages and dangerous terrain, where traversal is impossible without the right equipment. With each new location, the dangers, puzzles, and creatures increase. In co-op, puzzles, skirmishes, and escapes require the coordinated work of the entire group.

What's in Early Access?

The game currently features two maps, equipment for them, and several ghosts tied to them. Plans call for more maps, enemies, and equipment, a shared hub, a single-player campaign, new characters and modes, and stories for each location and enemy.
