Fall of Gods – a fast-paced slasher with roguelike elements, made by just two people, Felix and Roman. The enemies are ancient Egyptian gods, and the temples you fight through are rebuilt for each run.
Temples that change
The dungeons are randomly generated, so memorizing the map isn't an option. These are ancient temples with traps and puzzles, but they have a unique look: Egyptian architecture blends with futuristic technology. The result is an Egypt where ancient halls are juxtaposed with technology that clearly isn't from the age of the pharaohs. The setting itself changes from run to run, so even a familiar stage feels fresh.
Combos and random skills
Combat is built around combos of attacks, with the bulk of the action taking place in close-quarters combat from a third-person perspective. The pace is fast, so standing still and waiting for an attack isn't an option. As you progress through the game, new abilities are unlocked, and your moveset evolves slightly each time: one run might yield one thing, the next might yield something completely different. Therefore, the main challenge is to adapt your combat style to the situation at hand, rather than sticking to a single favorite tactic. There's a lot of violence in the game, which the developers themselves warn you about.
Gods instead of bosses
The main challenges of each run are battles with ancient Egyptian deities. The developers explicitly recommend using everything you've collected along the way against them, and that's no exaggeration. User Steam tags list the game as both a souls-like game and a spectacular slasher, with platformer tags also included. While the full Steam release hasn't yet taken place, a demo is available on the game's page. Fall of Gods You can download the game via torrent on this page.
