HUNTDOWN – a "hardcore shooter" for hardcore cyberpunks! Essentially, this is the developers' attempt to remind gamers of the action movies of the 80s, where you could tear your opponent to shreds, destroy half the city, and emerge victorious. The creators of Easy Trigger Games put roughly the same idea into their arcade game. HUNTDOWN.
The story puts you as a member of a hired gang of "crazy" thugs with unique abilities, who must help the police (not for free, of course) and clear the city streets of brutal bandits.
Gangs came out of the shadows
In the 21st century, crime has reached its peak. Police can't cope with the influx of gangs, and they have to resort to extreme measures. The police organization "Shimomoto" can't stand it any longer and hires a trio — Anna Conda, John Sawyer, a cyborg, and MyMan, a droid — to eliminate criminals from the city streets.
You'll encounter some very likeable bandits: punks, bikers, rabid hockey fans, yakuza — in short, colorful, slightly crazy characters who will tear you to shreds unless you're just like them and start playing by their rules. Of course, to eliminate the criminal scum, you're given all sorts of weapons: grenades, machine guns, rockets, flamethrowers — everything is at your disposal. But don't get too excited: enemies are crawling out of every nook and cranny, overwhelming you with sheer numbers!
Boss fight
At the end of each level, and there are 20 of them, you'll face a boss, the one you've been offered the highest price for. No need to study him; just kill him outright, or he'll swat you like a fly. The game also has room for some witty humor: in addition to the usual slaughter, the characters unwind by teasing each other, including the boss, who, by the way, is not above returning the favor. Once you defeat the boss, you'll earn money, which you can use to buy weapons or upgrade yourself and your gang.
Features of the game
Both the gameplay itself and the level design are skillfully crafted.
The characters are always new and vibrant, and the atmosphere is interesting and dynamic.
The game keeps you going through all 20 levels in one breath.
It is possible to play in a team and resurrect each other, even if you have been completely destroyed.
