The Long Dark

Could you survive in Northern Canada? The place where the forests end... no, it seems they never end. The Long Dark will teach you to survive in any situation, because the project is a survival simulator.

Plot. The main character, Will Mackenzie, gets caught in a storm while flying, which has completely inexplicable properties that can only be described as mystical.

Goal. Just live! The longer you can stay alive, the better your chances of learning all the details of the mysterious change in the world.
What to do. In short, wander a lot, but in more detail, you need to constantly search for resources, explore new areas, and learn about the world's peculiarities. Make decisions. The decision you make in a given situation determines what happens next (this applies to gameplay, the plot, and even the fate of humanity).

As an example. The world you're about to live in isn't just forests and forests... searching for food, water, shelter... reaching the city... hurray! Saved! Nothing of the sort — because of the Northern Lights — the technological progress we're so proud of (humanity being the smartest on the planet and all that) — well, that same progress has been set back several centuries. Humans are no longer the highest beings, and what's more, we're much lower on the food chain than before.

Sympathy? What is that? Forget mercy; encounters with other people will not end well. Everyone tries to survive as best they can — and of course, if there's an opportunity to kill and rob their neighbor, no one will fail to take advantage. So beware... There's no room for heroism here, only greed remains. Only the strongest, the most cunning, the smartest, and the most resourceful will survive...perhaps.
