Super Mega Baseball Extra Innings

Last December, the sports arcade game Super Mega Baseball from Metalhead hit the North American market. It also hit the European market in April of this year. However, the developers are still busy with the project — the Extra Innings expansion will be released this summer. This news will be especially welcome for Xbox One and PC owners, as Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings will not be exclusive to PlayStation consoles.

The upcoming release will feature new stadiums, improved gameplay, and other general upgrades. Scott Drader, one of Metalhead's founders, noted that the current market lacks high-quality and accessible sports games, particularly baseball games, so the developers decided to focus on this theme. Super Mega Baseball aims to bring this genre back into the spotlight, particularly attracting a younger generation of gamers unfamiliar with the video games their parents once loved.

It's worth noting that Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings is an unlicensed game, unlike titles like RBI Baseball 15 and MLB 15: The Show, so it doesn't feature famous stadiums or famous players. However, this doesn't make Metalhead's arcade game any less engaging, especially considering the four-player co-op mode. It's also worth noting the game's high critical acclaim — it holds an overall Metacritic score of 85 out of 100. And that's quite a respectable score!
