Private Psychic

Private Psychic is a story-driven detective game with supernatural horror elements, where you investigate paranormal events and confront your own fears about the future. The protagonist, Maple, is a young psychic who recently graduated from university and decided to open her own agency in a new city. However, the beginning of adulthood proves so frightening that her ability to foresee the future begins to falter: instead of a multitude of possible outcomes, she sees primarily the worst-case scenarios.

Detective agency on the border of worlds

The action takes place in the small university town of Behvirf, where paranormal phenomena have long been a part of everyday life. Ghosts and other entities are capable of possessing people, manipulating them, attacking residents, and creating powerful illusions. Maple must solve a wide variety of cases, from strange cases involving haunted household appliances to investigations involving souls trapped in another dimension. Each new task demands attentiveness, resourcefulness, and a willingness to face the unknown.

The investigations harbour a more personal theme: the fear of change and uncertainty that people face as they enter adulthood. The heroine must not only help the townspeople and prove her worth as a psychic, but also learn to cope with anxiety about the future, work, and responsibility. The various cases reveal new facets of supernatural horror, from gothic motifs to digital and cosmic horror.
