War Footing

War Footing is a turn-based strategy game in which you assume the role of Minister of Defense and prepare an entire country to repel an invasion. Instead of directly commanding soldiers on the battlefield, you'll manage the military budget, negotiate arms contracts, develop your own industry, and build a combat-ready army. Decisions made before the war begins determine whether your country can withstand a confrontation with the enemy.

Invasion Prep

Each turn represents one week, which must be used to maximum advantage. Purchase equipment from foreign suppliers or order it from domestic manufacturers, train units, and determine their mission. At the same time, political stability and diplomatic obligations must be considered: military spending competes with the country's other needs, and management errors can jeopardize the army's funding. The player has eight scenarios at his disposal, each with varying starting conditions, resource constraints, and enemy force compositions.

When an invasion begins, the outcome is determined by the quality of the preliminary preparation. Create units from companies to brigades, select weapons, and consider the capabilities of over 180 types of equipment, including small arms, armored vehicles, artillery, aviation, and air defense systems. Combat operations are resolved at the operational level, by sector and week, and the outcome depends on the readiness of units, the chosen doctrine, equipment, and troop deployment.
