Homicide Desk — is a detective game in which the murder investigation falls entirely on your shoulders. All you have in front of you are the case files, a few suspects, and a workbench with the necessary tools — no ready-made clues. You'll have to independently study the documents, verify the obtained data, send the findings to the lab, and decide which version of events is truly credible. A false accusation could turn the investigation against the detective themselves.
The case is on the table
Conversations with suspects take place without pre-prepared answers. You formulate your own questions and observe the other person's reaction: they might try to deflect the topic, start making excuses, fumble their words, or suddenly change their behavior. Pressure also has consequences: if you act too early and without evidence, the person might demand a lawyer and end the conversation. Conversely, a well-chosen piece of evidence can undermine a carefully crafted lie and force the suspect to reconsider their testimony.
The desktop brings together virtually all investigative tools. Folders contain reports, photographs, and witness statements, and forensic procedures require the player's direct participation. Fingerprints must be matched manually, codes cracked manually, lab equipment properly configured, and the time allotted. Additional information is provided by security camera footage, call history, and photographs, and some documents must be opened using a code found or accessed during interrogation.
