Changes:Updated to version Build 23297579.[Changelog]
Dark Dominion is a dark role-playing game about a World War I soldier who died along with his family but continues to wander in a world between life and death. The protagonist doesn't yet understand that he's long dead, and clings to only one thought: to find his daughter amidst the endless night and distorted lands, where the war seems to have never ended. The game immediately overwhelms you with its oppressive atmosphere: empty ruins, fog, rain, silhouettes of monsters, and the feeling that reality itself has long since begun to crumble.
A gothic nightmare instead of the usual fantasy
There's almost no light or peace here. Ruined streets, old cathedrals, dead villages, and dark passages look as if the entire world has slowly rotted away, along with the people who once lived here. Even enemies seem more than just monsters, but something born of human pain, war, and the fear of death. The further the hero advances, the more the world around him begins to resemble a terrible dream from which it's impossible to awaken.
Combat is brutal and dangerous. Enemies quickly punish mistakes, requiring you to carefully monitor your opponent's movements and avoid rushing head-on into every fight. The game is clearly inspired by Dark Souls and Demon's Souls, but places a strong emphasis on the mood and story of a man who lost everything before his own death. Against the backdrop of the grim environment, the music and overall presentation are particularly powerful — a sense of hopelessness permeates almost every location.
