Pattern Ring — is a roguelike deckbuilder with a tactical rune system where you build a deck, create combos, and battle using the correct placement of symbols to activate spells. Gameplay is built not only on card selection but also on their synergy with rune patterns, meaning every decision impacts which abilities will actually trigger in battle.
A mechanic that breaks traditional deckbuilding
Cards don't work on their own here. To activate a spell, you need to build a rune pattern that meets the requirements. This forces you to think not only about the card's power but also how it fits into the overall structure of the deck. A poor combination turns powerful abilities into useless weight, while a successful construction allows you to play several cards in a row.
The route through the labyrinth shapes your progression. Enemies, rewards, and hidden shops influence your build, creating variety in each run. Sometimes you have to adapt to the resources you find, while other times you have to purposefully seek out the right elements to refine your build into a fully functional system with powerful combinations.
