Winnie's Hole is a turn-based roguelike where you play not as a hero, but as a virus that has taken up residence in the body of a familiar bear. Your journey is a slow and methodical one of enslavement from within: cellular takeover, mutation, and building a deck of actions that determine the course of each battle. The deeper you delve into the host's body, the more distorted and dangerous this inner world becomes.
Evolution, mutations and control
Gameplay revolves around capturing healthy cells and then mutating them. Each mutation unlocks new actions or passive effects, allowing you to develop your own infection style. By spreading virus blocks, you gradually expand your influence, unlocking bonuses, new strains, and opportunities for further evolution.
Turn-based battles require thoughtful placement of actions on the battlefield. Each turn, available moves are laid out in blocks, and their placement determines the effectiveness of combinations. By cleverly combining actions, you can activate several effects at once and turn the tide of battle. The host's limitations become part of the tactics, and the virus's ability to adapt is the key to victory.
