Rentals during the day, contracts at night
A small record store isn't a whim or a hobby, but a front. As darkness falls, Anton descends into the city's criminal underworld, where orders await, old debts, and a past that refuses to be left behind. The game hinges on switching between two lives: both must be maintained, and both gradually begin to interfere with each other.
New York City 2012 is recreated in a detailed and deliberately down-to-earth way, stripped of neon and stylization, as the city actually was just over a decade ago.
A fight without superheroics
The combat system is based on close-quarters combat, built on weight and momentum rather than combo chains. Finishing moves are brutal and deliberately dirty, and the shooting is responsive yet economical: this isn't a shooting gallery, but a series of short, tense skirmishes where every mistake is costly. The staging is masterful — the camera serves the story, not just the spectacle.
Three Acts and Fair Rules
Anton's story is divided into three acts, each representing a complete part of the overall plot, with new missions added between the main episodes. The developers at AttritoM7 Productions — a Bangladeshi studio known for the tactical shooter Zero Hour — opted for an episodic format, but with a caveat not typically found in the genre: you buy it once, and the second and third acts are included. This is a direct response to the reputation of episodic games, which for years tended to get stuck on the first act.
