The King is Watching — is a unique strategy game with roguelite elements, where your power is limited... by your attention. Only under your gaze does the state prosper, but the moment you turn away, trials begin.

Where the gaze rules, order is born

Fields become empty if you don't watch them. Forges are silent when your gaze is elsewhere. Every part of the empire requires supervision, but you only have one eye. Prioritize: producing coal or training crossbowmen? Everyone needs attention, but only a few will receive it in time.

Natural disasters, dark cataclysms, and curses are an integral part of power. Every attempt is a chance to become wiser, more powerful, and more prepared. New mechanics, improvements, and choices make each game unique. Even defeat is a contribution to future greatness.

I bought it on Steam and the game is cool, even original in some ways.
The only BUT at the moment is that there are no saves. There's not even a concept of "save and quit."
Once you've started a game, you have to play it to the end (or don't turn off your PC while you're doing things...)
The developer promised to fix this with the first updates.

Well, yes, that's exactly it - "sorting rice grains by hand", with mathematicsAs a player, you need to keep a dozen variables in mind and clearly understand which cells to place which buildings in order to maximize production efficiency and not end up with a 2k gold deficit, provided that you don't have enough grapes to produce bees.Yeah, it sounds stupid, but that's what the game is about.)

I will give an example:
- You need to place the "crossbow shooting range" and "other ranged units" at the edge of the kingdom. Since the rangers won't die, you don't need to produce them either. But, same market, you need to put it in the center, because the faster you farm "tier 3 review"which costs 600 gold), the faster you will incom.

And the real gameplay is to strictly understand (almost calculate):
- What buildings will be useful to you in the race?
- Which units tank better, and which ones do more DPS?
- Is it worth taking healers, or is it better to focus on "exploding carts"?
- Should I prioritize the "drawing" one, or will the random resources be enough for you?
- How much forest land do you need in late game to maximize army limits?
- Should I focus on the Furniture Store to grind for "meta-currency," or focus on maximizing my limits to have enough for the boss?

- And, damn, as the icing on the cake, you need to KNOW EXACTLY when and which buildings to move, after which tier-up and after which buildings are built, so that the "sighting range" includes exactly THOSE that synergize best with each other, at the current level of the kingdom's progress. Phew!

That is, the real gameplay is not about getting into the role of a king ruling a kingdom, but about having the most stuffy and unpleasant sex with mathematics and keeping in mind a lot of values and variables in order to WIN!

Who is this game for? Well, primarily Asians, and then you, assuming math is your favorite subject in school.

In principle, everything is well described by Politan above.

At first, everything seems pretty simple. Then, suddenly, it all feels challenging, and hope arises for leveling up between runs. Leveling up is slow, and you start to delve deeper into solving the problems. After a few tries on NG+3 difficulty, you're already easily completing it.

The game is awesome and well-designed. Lots of buildings, resource types, bosses, bonuses, and much more.
The only thing they couldn't implement was a rerun system because each match lasts at least an hour, and there's no goal or progression. And that, as we know, takes away the desire to stat each time.

My rating is 7.2 out of 10

After 10-15 runs it becomes quite boring to play, at the beginning it is quite addictive
