Deadlight Director’s Cut – an expanded remaster of the 2012 2D horror platformer Deadlight from the Spanish studio Tequila Works, released on June 21, 2016. Abstraction Games, publisher Deep Silver, worked with the developers on it. In addition to enhanced graphics, the remaster added a new arena survival mode.
Seattle, 1986
The action takes place in an alternate 1986, when an epidemic has already transformed most people into the walking dead. Here, they are called shadows. The protagonist, Randall Wayne, a withdrawn and slightly paranoid survivor, searches for his loved ones on the ruined streets of Seattle. The journey takes him across rooftops, abandoned houses, and the city's underground, and the story gradually unfolds through diary pages and short scenes.
Run, don't fight
The game looks like a 2D platformer, but it's structured like a survival game. Ammo and weapons are scarce, so a head-on fight with a horde of shadows usually ends badly. It's often more advantageous to hide, distract the undead with noise, or run past using the environment: jump across a chasm, climb to a spot where the shadows can't reach. Puzzles and traps are encountered along the way, and some sections require speedrunning with a whole wave of undead advancing behind.
What's new in the Director's Cut
The streets of Seattle have received improved textures and 1080p graphics, controls are more responsive, and Randall has new animations. The main expansion is called Survival Arena: it features endless waves of shadows, defensive structures that hold back the undead and open up new areas, and new weapons, including a machine gun, a Molotov cocktail, and a sniper rifle. Results are posted to online leaderboards. The game includes a digital artbook and developer video diaries. Download torrent Deadlight Director’s Cut On PC you can find it on this page.
