Rewind Or Die

Rewind Or Die – a first-person horror game about a shift at a video rental store from Comp-3 Interactive, published by Torture Star Video. Released on April 14, 2023, the game is styled after British VHS rentals of the 1990s.

Someone else's shift

The protagonist works at a video rental store and, on his day off, marries a coworker who hasn't shown up for work yet again. Meanwhile, a serial killer is on the loose in the neighborhood. The usual work routine remains: angry customers, an unpleasant boss, orderly shelves, and cleaning. However, threatening phone calls are also coming in, and someone is watching the store through the display window. The stalker's name is Slow.

Blood and dark humor

The game doesn't shy away from violence. There's plenty of blood, the environment is dirty and grim, and the enemies are strange and unpleasant. However, the seriousness is constantly tempered with dark humor, and the unreliable colleagues are fully voiced. The puzzles are challenging, and how you solve them affects the consequences. Stealth is also present: sometimes it's better to hide than to run into trouble.

Two endings

There are two endings, plus the game contains hidden secrets worth seeking out on repeat playthroughs. Completing the game unlocks character models for viewing.
