Have you ever had to fill out paperwork? The process is, to put it mildly, not quick. In the game Papers, Please Players assume the role of an inspector processing documents for immigrants. You can decide whether to allow or deny entry to a particular person based on the documents they provide.

The game is inspired by current global events, albeit with a different storyline, but the essence remains the same. The war between two countries has ended, and the influx of immigrants is enormous, and among them there may be not only ordinary people but also terrorists, spies, and other shady characters. Game features:
- To decide whether a migrant can enter your country, the immigration officer (that is, you) is guided by the documents provided to him and a computer.
- In fact, it's the same paperwork, but the game gives you the opportunity to find yourself on the other side of the table, where you need to find all the discrepancies/errors in the documents provided and grant/deny entry.
The game also includes a human element of empathy for those who seek help. For example, you might feel sorry for an elderly migrant who clearly has problems with his documents, but no one can say whether he might later turn out to be a terrorist. Or you might solve a different problem — separating a married couple because one of the spouses lacks proper documentation...
- The game has an interesting plot, with several development options, most endings end in failure, only three bring victory and one option gives a partial victory.
- Controllers and criminals, provocateurs and terrorists will be passing through the checkpoint; at some point, they may even blow up the checkpoint.
- As the game progresses, the hero will be given a gun if he manages to hold out long enough in these conditions, and even use it on the intruder, if he's lucky.
A rather interesting project that partially reflects the situation with migrants in the world, as well as the entire work of migration services.
How the game's plot unfolds depends on your actions, whether you grant entry permits to particular characters. Some characters may be harmless civilians with document problems, while others may be criminals with perfect papers.
