Overlord 1 — a gripping action adventure with role-playing and strategy elements from the Dutch studio Triumph. Fans of fantasy turn-based strategy games are likely familiar with this company's name, as it was the creator of the legendary Age of Wonders series. Haven't you played it? However, if you have, and the seriousness of fantasy issues is sacred to you, think carefully before downloading Overlord. This game is a parody of fantasy worlds, filled with dark humor and overt sarcasm, so it's not for those faint of heart who tremble at the might of mages and elves.
Overlord challenges gamers to assume the role of the Dark Overlord, who was defeated but has risen to exact vengeance, destroying his seven enemies and conquering their lands. These seven were once heroes, but now they are fallen heroes. Each of their members now embodies one of the seven deadly sins. So, the Dark Overlord's mission isn't so evil after all? The lands under his leadership may not become paradise, but eradicating the deadly sins is definitely a plus, right?
So, for the Dark Overlord to succeed in his plan, he needs help. These helpers are loyal creatures called minions, who are very reminiscent of gremlins. There are four types of minions in the game, each with their own unique abilities. Without further ado, we assure you the game is fun! Incidentally, there's an expansion pack available — Overlord Raising Hell. It contains new maps, weapons, enemy types, and a fresh, albeit reminiscent, storyline. In short, the Dark Overlord will once again have to restore order to his domain.
