The story's protagonist is a girl named Scarlet. She finds herself caught in the eye of a tornado and in the wondrous kingdom of Gloom. There are no people there, but many unusual creatures: from knights and monsters to witches and munchkins. The latter need a guide to lead them through the dangerous Evilwood. This route is the shortest, but it is here that the greatest dangers await travelers.

The enchanted forests are ruled by the evil witch Lephaba. She hates uninvited guests and deals with them with the utmost cruelty, burning them like kindling for a fire. Travelers inevitably bring disaster upon themselves, and... Scarlett dies. But in the enchanted forest, a "return spell" works. The girl's heart begins to beat again, and she relives that terrible day.

To pass the test, Scarlett must survive seven endless days and make a series of difficult decisions. Only then will she be able to break the chain of events, fulfill her mission, and return home.
