The story follows private detective Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth, a woman with supernatural powers. Booker initially travels to the floating city of Columbia to rescue Elizabeth, but the successful mission is only the beginning of the story. The heroes find themselves in the midst of a political war between Columbia's authorities and rebellious workers. Thanks to Elizabeth's ability to influence parallel worlds, she and Booker are able to uncover the city's strange secrets, and, along the way, uncover some dark truths about their own lives.

This time, the developers have offered a unique character development system for a shooter. Instead of the usual skill tree, the character now has a wardrobe with four slots. Thus, by acquiring and equipping various items, Booker DeWitt will improve his skills. This system is generally familiar to gamers, for example, from the turn-based strategy series Might & Magic Heroes.
Throughout the game, players will have the opportunity to try out a variety of firearms — pistols, sniper rifles, shotguns, carbines, and even grenade launchers. Each weapon can be upgraded to level 4, meaning you can fully experience the guns' capabilities! However, Booker DeWitt can only carry two weapons at a time, so choosing wisely is crucial, based on the nature of the upcoming mission.
- Gameplay variety is significantly enhanced by magical abilities. To defeat enemies and solve a host of other tasks, create ball lightning, fireballs, restore destroyed turrets, and so on. And to protect yourself, you can, for example, build a magical shelter.
Despite the fantastical plot and the heroes' supernatural abilities, battles with enemies can be downright realistic. The advanced difficulty mode, designed for the most persistent and stubborn gamers, is configured in such a way that even the weakest enemy has a high chance of finishing off the hero. So be extremely vigilant!
