Characters should be chosen and developed based on your tactical preferences; ultimately, this and much more will help you tackle missions in different ways. Crucially, the player has the power to create scenarios, even ones the developers themselves never imagined. The gameplay is called emergent. In short, this means that the combination of many elements can create something truly amazing.

Nonlinearity is the defining characteristic Satellite Reign. Here, no one even hints at the best course of action. The choice is entirely up to the player. For example, sometimes it might be useful to pay off scientists to be the first to obtain the latest technology, or to kidnap an influential person, or to empty the largest bank with a well-thought-out, "subtle" plan or incredible audacity! When playing Satellite Reign, you need to fantasize, forget about standards, clichés, labels...
