Pikuniku Collectors Edition

Pikuniku Collectors Edition – a collector's edition of the absurd puzzle adventure Pikuniku, developed by the small four-person studio Sectordub and released by Devolver Digital on January 24, 2019. In addition to the game itself, the collector's edition includes a soundtrack by Calum Bowen and a digital comic by artist Mushbuh.

Sweet dystopia

The hero's name is Piku, a red, round character with long legs. He wakes up in a cave, and the villagers initially mistake him for a terrifying beast. Trust must be earned, for example, by fixing a broken bridge. Meanwhile, Mr. Sunshine, a pink guy in a top hat, is lording it over the area. He gives everyone "free money" in exchange for junk, while his giant robots steal crops, cut down the forest, drain the lake, and kidnap villagers. Piku joins the Resistance, and the game gradually reveals Sunshine's true plans.

Kick as the main tool

Almost all puzzles are solved with feet. Piku kicks and pushes objects onto buttons to open doors, uses his lasso-like feet to grab hooks and ziplines, curls up into a ball and rolls, and rides in minecarts and through pipes. You can talk to the inhabitants, and almost everyone has their own strange request. Coins found throughout the levels can be used to buy hats and other items. The puzzles are simple, designed for both children and adults, and the humor carries the game throughout. The story takes about five hours to complete, and after the finale, you can explore the restored island.

Piku and Niku together

There's also a separate local co-op mode for two players: nine levels where the second player controls Nika, and together they need to reach the boat at the end of the level. A gamepad is more convenient to play. On PC, the game is almost completely lightweight; even the old integrated graphics will suffice, and the installation takes about 300 MB.
