Signs of Life

Signs of Life – a 2D sci-fi survival sandbox from the small studio Sweet Dog Studios. The game launched in Steam Early Access on January 27, 2014, and has been in development ever since, with the developers promising a full release by the end of 2026. Genre-wise, it's a platformer with block mining, crafting, and alien fauna.

The last survivor

The United Nations sent two ships to an Earth-like planet fourteen light years away: the colonial Hephaestus and the small scout Hermes, which arrived first. Four years later, the Hephaestus crew decided to check a weak signal from a nearby asteroid, and it ended in disaster. The hero escapes in a small capsule, leaving behind only his clothes, a multifunctional wrist laser, and AGIS, a malfunctioning artificial intelligence. With this equipment, he begins his journey on an alien planet.

Dig, hunt, gather

The world is partly handcrafted and partly procedurally generated, so alongside well-designed locations, there are randomized areas. Blocks are broken down, yielding ore and materials, and organs from slain animals are harvested for use. Weapons, armor, gadgets, and furniture are crafted from these items. Creatures on the planet vary: some attack immediately, others leave the hero alone, and among the alien creatures, you can even encounter chickens that are quite human.

Alone or together

To pass Signs of Life You can play solo, but there's also online co-op and player-versus-player battles. Before the release of version 1.0, the developers promise to improve the progression, balance, and stability of online play. The game shares only a similar name with Signs of Darkness. Installation:
1. Unzip the archive (the main thing is that the path to the game folder does not contain Cyrillic characters).
