Starlathe is a top-down, 2D space simulator in which a vast galaxy exists independently of the player's actions. Across 150 sectors, miners extract ore, carriers deliver goods, factories process resources, and battle fleets battle for control of territories. Each cargo truly travels the entire route from its production site to its final destination, ships navigate autonomously through space, and destroyed vessels remain after battles as literal wrecks.
The path to wealth
You can start with a small ship and choose your own development path. Mining allows you to collect ore from asteroid fields and process it into more valuable materials, while trading is built on a supply chain with over 50 types of goods. You can buy products where they're cheapest and transport them to where there's demand. Another path involves combat: you can fulfill faction orders to eliminate pirates or turn to the criminals yourself and live with the consequences of your reputation. Download Starlathe You can use a torrent on your PC to start your journey with a small ship and independently choose how to earn money in the living galaxy.
As you develop, you can create your own fleet and assign specific duties to your ships. Some vessels can mine resources, others transport goods along selected routes, and escort ships can protect trade convoys. A battle fleet can be led by a dreadnought flagship, and battles take place directly between ships using turrets, missiles, beam weapons, and point defense systems. The galaxy reacts to these events: stations can be destroyed, territories can come under the control of different factions, and destroyed facilities are subsequently restored.
