The Headlands is a cozy farming simulator with strategy elements, set in a small Ukrainian village at the turn of two eras. You're left with an abandoned farm, an old tractor, a neglected field, and very few resources. You'll have to gradually bring the land back to life, cultivate it, sow grain, and harvest, deciding for yourself how to develop your farm. Farming from scratch

You'll start with the simplest tasks, using the available equipment and limited fuel and grain reserves. You'll need to choose which fields to cultivate first, when to invest in new equipment, and how to allocate your existing resources. Market prices are constantly changing, so a profitable opportunity to sell your harvest can arise unexpectedly. There are no timers to force you to rush or sudden penalties for slow progress, so you can set your own pace and gradually transform your abandoned farm into a fully-fledged operation.

Particular attention is paid to agricultural machinery, familiar from real Ukrainian fields. Old tractors have distinctive appearances, engine sounds, and overall character, and each machine feels like part of the surrounding environment. A mechanic and mentor is at the player's side, helping them understand the machinery and offering advice. In their free time, they can build unusual machines not found in any standard catalog. By fulfilling orders from neighbors, players can unlock new opportunities and gradually expand their farm.
