Eight Fates

At the beginning of the journey, you can choose one of eight main characters, each with their own story and perspective on the events unfolding. As you progress, more characters join your party, and you can assemble a suitable team from over twenty possible allies. The plot doesn't force you to follow a strictly defined path: the player decides which stories to explore, which events to tackle first, and when to confront the Four Villains. These decisions shape the adventure and allow for varied experiences on repeat playthroughs.

Battles retain the series' signature features of squad development and tactical control. The classic Glimmer and Formation systems have been reimagined, with a new timeline added for more detailed action planning. Special combo attacks allow multiple heroes to combine their strengths and gain an advantage in challenging encounters. The visuals have also been completely overhauled: the 3D world is based on Tomomi Kobayashi's original pixel art and illustrations, with new character designs by Yoshiro Ambe. The soundtrack features both new arrangements by Kenji Ito and the option to select original compositions.
