Creepshow is a horror anthology of several standalone stories, written in the style of old horror comics. Each chapter introduces new characters and a separate problem that gradually spirals out of control, while dark humor constantly juxtaposes violent and unexpected events. The central story follows Danny and his friends, whose attempt to understand their father's disappearance leads to secrets that were best left undiscovered.
Stories that are best not read at night
As Danny's investigation progresses, he encounters the enigmatic Reader — a fortune teller who can guide him to new, terrifying tales. The plot gradually unfolds through several interconnected episodes, where ordinary situations take on a completely different meaning. The player must explore the environment, search for necessary items, and solve simple puzzles, watching as familiar locations transform into settings for increasingly bizarre events.
Each story features its own distinct characters, circumstances, and source of danger, so the horror isn't limited to a single threat. Comic-style graphics emphasize the deliberately pulpy nature of the action, while individual minigames break up the exploration and allow for direct interaction with the events. At the same time, the game doesn't try to overwhelm with fear, leaving room for dark humor, absurd situations, and endings that can dramatically change the experience.
