Gospodar's Tales

Gospodar's Tales is a psychological horror film inspired by Romanian folklore, set in a village in the early 2000s. The protagonist, Ion, is a simple peasant obsessed with the wealth of Vasile, the owner of the Hanul Gospodarului inn. Envy gradually displaces everything else, until the desire to become rich leads Ion to an act that will change his life forever.

Where guilt becomes part of the surrounding world

Explore rural homes, churches, wells, and other places filled with traces of the past. Objects here behave as if they remember: wax moves counter-clockwise, a bell seems to breathe, and the ground beneath your feet pulsates. Symbolic puzzles compel you to consider not only the objects you find but also their significance in history.

The story is presented as a dark folk tale with black humor and the tones of an old fairy tale. The dirty yellow light of lamps and candles, sticky shadows, and the absence of an intrusive interface create the feeling of a place where ordinary rural life gradually takes on a disturbing quality. The horror here is built on silence, the consequences of actions, and guilt, rather than constant surprise attacks.
